Dear Stormont, Dundas & South Glengarry Resident:

Great News!!! All the residents of South Glengarry are now part of our Provincial Riding Association. We are excited with the provincial realignment because it now mirrors the Federal Riding Association. Why should that cause any excitement?

Well, in the last Federal election the residents of the Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry elected a Conservative M.P. with the largest majority in our history and we anticipate those results again in the next provincial election.

The reasons for this positive anticipation is the dissatisfaction with the current Liberal government due to their broken promises and the huge increased costs for each of us to live in this province. The Liberal government believes they can buy our votes with the huge surpluses they have accumulated from all these extra dollars taken from us. Fortunately, we hold governments accountable for their poor performance and we will do that by electing a Conservative M.P.P. in this Riding and in the majority of Ridings in the Province in the next year.

Within the next few months we will be holding a Nomination meeting to elect a candidate for the next election. You can assist us by purchasing a membership and voting at the Nomination meeting.

After we have a candidate we will need your help to get him/her elected by being part of the campaign team, making a financial donation, getting a sign for your property and getting out to vote.

Remember, we did it in the last Federal election and we will do it in the next provincial election…WITH YOUR HELP!!

Sincerely

Tory Will Act to Protect Ontario Pets

John Tory
John Tory
PC Leader
July 22, 2007

Progressive Conservative Leader John Tory announced today that an Ontario PC Government would take immediate action to protect pets across Ontario by strengthening the province’s weak animal protection legislation.

“Ontario has the weakest domestic animal protection laws in all of Canada,” Tory said. “Decent people have been horrified by the cruelty inflicted on innocent creatures, while Dalton McGuinty has refused to act. He has had four years to fix this problem but he has shown absolutely no leadership on this issue.”

During a visit to a local park, Tory announced that his government would act immediately to introduce legislation... (more)

Tory Will Restore Funding to Ontario's Fish and Wildlife Program

A PC Government will restore pride in Ontario’s Natural Resources Programs

John Tory
PC Leader
Peterborough - August 2, 2007

Progressive Conservative Leader John Tory said today that a PC Government will reverse years of McGuinty Liberal neglect and restore necessary funds to the Ministry of Natural Resources Fish and Wildlife Program.

Tory made the comments today at the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) in Peterborough, Ontario, following a meeting with OFAH staff.

“Ontario’s fish and wildlife resources are essential to our economy, our environment and our way of life in this province,” Tory said. “Dalton McGuinty has spent years neglecting this sector, and it’s time we had a Premier who will fix the damage this Government has created.”

The economic contribution of the sector is estimated at $2.5 billion annually in Ontario and $6.2 billion nationally... (more)

Tory Will Bring Ontario Health Care Out of the Dark Ages

Aggressive PC Plan will dramatically transform health system using technology

John Tory
PC Leader
Toronto - July 31, 2007

Progressive Conservative Leader John Tory said today a PC government will bring Ontario's health care system out of the dark ages and into the 21st century with a new e-health approach.

"Our health care system needs to stop running on a clunky old Commodore 64 and get into the 21st Century," said Tory. "Technology has changed the way that we do our banking, shopping and many other parts of our lives. There is no excuse for us not using technology to improve patient care in Ontario and better manage health care costs," said Tory.

Tory made the comments during a news conference in Toronto with PC Health Critic Elizabeth Witmer at the offices of the Electronic Children's Health Network... (more)
