BOLTON: On 12 March 2005, SDC Youth members Joanna Franklin, Shane Barnes and Priscilla Joy Franklin travelled to Bolton. Along with Ottawa Youth, James Murphy and Jon Amor, they canvassed door-to-door for John Tory who was running to win his seat in the byelection. It was a pleasant adventure for these Eastern Ontario youth. Through a snowstorm, they travelled the snow-covered roads of the luxurious countryside. Their dedication paid off. As the rest did on multiple occasion, Joanna met an overjoyed resident who, excited to have been canvassed for the first time, promised Tory his vote. Days later, John Tory won Dufferin-Peel-Wellington-Grey with a solid majority.
