CORNWALL – Chris Savard will be the Ontario Progressive Conservative candidate in the next provincial election.

He was acclaimed at the Riding Association’s Nomination Meeting October 26, 2006 at the Ramada Inn in Cornwall.

S-D-SG Riding Association President and Savard supporter, Glen Grant of Cornwall said, “The tremendous support that Chris generated during the nomination process is a good indicator of the kind of candidate we will have in the next provincial election.”

“His honesty, integrity and dedication to the community is evident to those of us who have shared the Council table with him,” said Grant, who is also a municipal government colleague. “I’ve no doubt that by this time next year, voters in this riding will have shown Chris the same kind of support, he received here tonight.”

Riding Association Vice-President (Policy), Eric Duncan of South Mountain said, “We need a strong Progressive Conservative M.P.P. to represent our concerns at Queen’s Park. Chris Savard has the intelligence, energy, skills and experience to do the job. We need a M.P.P. and government that will capitalize on the strengths of S-D-SG and provide leadership to improve those areas that need support. Chris Savard is the person that can do that.” “We also need a M.P.P. with a strong understanding of the issues facing both our rural and urban communities and can provide real results for us at Queen’s Park.”

Ontario voters will go to the polls on October 4, 2007.
